Our client has asked us for help in solving a problem with ransomware. Below is the list of requirements:

1. Top management was attacked by ransomware despite having antivirus. Why did it happen?

2. How to migrate all 1,200 PCs from 25 different locations in one week?

3. We don’t want to purchase new PCs or upgrade from Windows XP.

“Here’s what we propose:

1. Our client is concerned about the quality of their antivirus software, which is why we recommend using CrowdStrike, recognized as one of the best antivirus solutions available. We provide them with Gartner’s results to reassure them that CrowdStrike is currently the top choice.

2. Our primary goal is to minimize disruption to business operations during the migration process. To achieve this, we will prioritize the migration based on location, business-critical systems, and user requirements. Subsequently, we will create a detailed migration plan to seamlessly transition 1,200 PCs from different locations within a one-week timeframe.

3. This project’s most challenging aspect is the presence of Windows XP, which has reached its end of support and is susceptible to attacks. After numerous discussions with the customer, we have agreed to follow our recommendation to split the network for Windows XP and maintain the old antivirus solution. We will execute this project in two phases: first, migrating 80% of all PCs to CrowdStrike, and second, migrating the remaining 20% by upgrading the operating systems. Additionally, we offer to optimize the specifications for new desktops to reduce the budgetary impact.”
